How to Breed a Ram in Farmville

I have this addiction to the sheep breeding. Be careful or you may too! I have bred 40 sheep since the introduction of the English Countryside. Aside from Brutus, the first ram I got on the quest (we all get him), I have bred 8 rams. I DIDN'T use the love potion twice and waited 24 hours and did not get a sheep (so much for the 50% chance).

This means I have used ALL 5 LOVE POTIONS each time I breed which figures out to be a RAM FOR EVERY FIVE SHEEP BRED. You can ask for love potions every 4 hours. Otherwise, you have to purchase them with Farmville Dollars. Here is the inside of my pen. (Click image to enlarge)

I did not count the sheep I purchased or redeemed (i.e. Scary Ewe from Halloween Candy Basket). Bottom line, if you want to breed 1 Ram for every 5 sheep. You have to breed using ALL of the love potions (100% chance and instant grow, for lack of a better word) FIVE times before you get a ram. Being a programmer, I know that everything follows an algorithm. I think the programming statement must be similar to:

     If(sheepBred = 5) Then

          LambGrown = Ram;

     Elseif

          LambGrown = Ewe;

Farmville's Subtle Features

I went to pet my cat in my garden and I have it so my character can walk. I get a kick out of the dog. My avatar was walking down an aisle, then went through the arch and over a bridge I put on the farm. That was cool. The programmers had to program the coordinates (x,y) that would be on each side of the length of the bridge and then put in a diagonal line. I dunno. I am going to ask my friends at Dreamincode.net to tell me. (Click to enlarge)

The kicker was when the dog tried to take a shortcut and ended up going twice the distance before reaching "me". I had to chuckle at that. I'm glad I didn't box my character in. (Click to enlarge)

 

I hit the "Print Screen" key on my computer but the must have been a delay from the time I hit the key to the screen capture. I'll try and see if I can do it later...

Malwarebytes - A Great Free Program That Finds Malware Your Antivirus Misses!

I find that Malwarebytes is a great program to get rid of malware on your computer that your Antivirus program can miss. Here is where you can download and install Malwarebytes. I like to get it from CNET.com since they test their programs for malware before offering it to the general public.

Here are some instructions on how to use it properly. NOTE: This is for people who are a little more experienced with computers than the average person.

What Are Your Farmville Gripes?

Some people are complaining, with every right to, that they don't want to have to purchase love potions in order to breed sheep successfully. Other feel that BOTH farms should be able to grow and develop, not just the last one they were on.

I agree! We have worked so hard to get our original farm built up. Now we have to start over? Not that we mind starting a new farm but we want to be able to have BOTH of them develop. What fun is it if we can only play HALF the game!

I saw that someone searched "How to Get Rid of the English Countryside Farm in Farmville" and then went to my page so I thought I would respond. You can click once on the balloon and select "sell" but I am not sure if that would work and I don't want to take the chance. Let me know if this works.

3.29.11 - I tried to send my second prize winner two Damson trees. She "friended" me on Facebook but I could not send her a gift since she was not my Farmville Neighbor. I am having trouble with my Farmville Neighbors' page. I cannot see her any where to EVEN send a neighbor request. I even pressed the "Ctrl" + "F" to try to search for her name and it was not found.

Okay, she is now there. I guess I should be patient but we don't know each other and I didn't want her to think I was scamming her.

Yesterday, I was cleaning up the outstanding "Pending Neighbor Requests" links and the only ones I could not delete had "??" next to various items (e.g. Level ??)  See below: (Click to enlarge)

Secret to Mastering Crafting Stalls - It's Not What You Think

I discovered that I can only make a few of a given crafting item since there are only so many people who offer the crops needed to make it. The glitch is that the more Crafting Stalls you have, the higher the amount of Mastery Point you need. It makes sense NOT to spend the enormous amount of coins to increase the capacity until you have mastered the crops offered.

Moral of the story: Bigger is NOT always better in this case!

Problem: I Cannot Send Gifts in Farmville - Cannot Access "Publish" Button

This can be frustrating. You have carefully selected the recipients of your gifts to select the ones who usually give the gift back. You cannot access the "Publish" Button. You try scrolling to the bottom and still no luck. This is an easy fix. Press the "Tab" once or a few times until you see the "Publish" button. (Click to enlarge)

As you can see, I scrolled all the way to the bottom and still cannot access the "Publish" button until I press the "Tab" key.

I will post Winners names in the comments section below this email so you can see if there are still openings left. Once I have all of the entries, I will update and publish the database below.

Make sure you accept all of your gifts in the Farmville screen FIRST! Then go to the Facebook Games link to accept them again! Update 3.25.11 - YOU CAN NO LONGER GET DOUBLE GIFTS. THIS GLITCH HAS BEEN FIXED...BUMMER!!!

Ran into a strange glitch yesterday. Tried to put a sign near my character that says: "It's so hard to farm in this outfit but every time I hit the "F" key, I went into full screen mode. I ended up saying: "It's just so hard to work in this getup!" My avatar is wearing a British Flag minidress with white platform boots. haha! (Click to enlarge)

People are complaining that their crops stop growing in their original farms when they leave the game in their English farm. I agree!! I am sure Zynga's developers will find a workaround for this and make it some big announcement with teasers like they did the English Countryside. After all, they heard our storage complaints and gave us storage cellars. (Click to enlarge)

I am confused about the chickens though. I got this really large white chicken on my English Farm but when I opened up a white egg, I got a regular-sized white chicken. Hmmm. (not something you want your Dr. to say. lol)

I love the sheep breeding. I will be working on a sheep breeding guide so send me your sheep results either via Facebook - Ari Red or via this blog (as a comment). It seems there will be thousands of types.

Lastly, I bought a Clydesdale Stallion for my English Countryside horse stall. Remember, we need stallions to breed our horses. Stallions are not offered very often so it's worth the Farmville cash spent - at least I hope it is. (Click to enlarge)

It's Been One Month - I Have Leveled from 59 to 81 in Farmville!!!! 22 Levels!

I did this using the crops with the most experience and the shortest harvest time. I have an "Unwither Ring" so I don't worry about the timing. Too busy programming and doing other stuff for that. Lol.

I did it using Nachos, Raspberries, and using the Biplane to grow instantly. I found that the new "Special Crops" are a great way to gain Experience Points. I log in twice a day and harvest "Straspberries" and "Purple Tomatoes". Already Mastered "Sun Poppy" (most XP points and high sell price) and "Straspberries" (shortest harvest of 2 hours and 2 XP points). Working on Mastering "Purple Tomatoes" with 4 hour harvest time and 2 XP points. Using Fertilize All to get the most experience points possible.

Get Lots of Gold Quickly in Farmville!

Go to your Crafting Stall. Select "Get Goods". Click on each St. Patrick's Day good offered. When you go to redeem these goods for fuel, you will also get a "Gold Chunk"! I got 35!! See below: (Click to enlarge)
