Kim - they may not be absolutely unique, their IP addresses are absolutely unique. You can test this by using the web browser on your smartphone. Browse to a webpage that you have Google Analytics code setup for, then shut off the mobile network on it, then turn it back on (you will now have a different IP address - http://www.whatismyip.com/), and go to that webpage again. Google Analytics will see that as a unique new visit. Folks use this technique to generate fall click-throughs on webpages that they have Google Adsense ads being generated on. ~Dave
ReplyDeleteActually, the favorable bounce rate depends upon what you are trying to accomplish. On my webpages, I want peeps to see an ad that they want to click-through on, so I am looking for higher bounce rates. For my point-of-sale webpages, I want them to navigate through as much of my site, and find things to buy. On my genealogy webpages, I have my Google Adsense setup for pay-per-impression, so I want them to navigate through as many webpages as they find inteest in. ~Dave
